MUSIC OF MONTEVERDI WORKSHOP
SATURDAY, APRIL 1, 2017
The San Diego Pro Arte Voices is hosting a one-day choral workshop, celebrating Claudio Monteverdi’s 450th birthday. The workshop will consist of group voice lessons, sectionals, tutti rehearsals, tutelage by faculty, and a catered lunch.
SAN DIEGO SUMMER CHORAL CONDUCTING WORKSHOP
JULY 30 – AUGUST 1, 2017
Over three days, participants will receive intensive choral conducting study, focusing on gesture, rehearsal techniques, warmups, vocal pedagogy, programming ideas, and choral literature for K-12, church, and community choirs. A choir made up of members of the San Diego Master Chorale and auditioned local choral musicians will be available every evening acting as the main vehicle for Conducting Fellows, both in rehearsal and at the culminating recital.
SAN DIEGO SUMMER CHORAL FESTIVAL
AUGUST 3 – AUGUST 6, 2017
The San Diego Summer Choral Festival is a four-day workshop that holds day and evening activities, including rehearsals, faculty recitals, vocal master classes, and topical sessions given by faculty, with performances in two of San Diego’s most rewarding acoustics: St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church (Pacific Beach) and St. Paul’s Cathedral (Banker’s Hill). The festival is open to all levels of vocal ability and experience. Students (rising 10th graders through college), church musicians, amateurs, semi-professionals, and professionals are welcome.
